Adding Drivers to SCCM 2012 R2

The following is a walk-through for adding driver packages to SCCM 2012 R2 1710.

Download the driver package from the OEM's website.
Ensure that you have a Package folder and a Source folder created on your SCCM network share.

Once the driver package has downloaded from the OEM's website extract the package to a folder of your choice on the local machine.
After extracting the package you should have a source folder for the package on the local machine.

Copy the contents of the source folder to the SCCM network share source folder. Ensure that you create an appropriate folder for the source files if you are using this location to store multiple driver source files. For example, if this is for a Dell Latitude 5480 ensure you create a Dell root folder and within this Dell folder create a Latitude 5480 source folder.

Open ConfigMgr Admin Console > Software Library
Expand the Operating Systems node.
Right-Click on Drivers and select import driver.

Wait for #ConfigMgr to validate the driver information.
After validation has completed, complete the Driver Details

Next, create the driver package.

On the Add Driver to Boot Image click, Next
On the Summary click, Next
On the Completion click, Close.

The final step Distribute the driver package to your distribution points.
